Gray Alien’s Burden

What if there was an alien invitation? Would we choose peace and prosperity even if it meant we were no longer in charge? The Grays arrive on Earth to find humanity mired in dysfunction after a nuclear incident between the U.S. and Soviets three years earlier plunged the world into economic ruin. United Gray Consortium Service Representative Robin is assigned to coordinate their relief efforts in Calgary as Canada is on the eve of a plebiscite that will determine whether they will accept the invitation to join the Consortium and enjoy the benefits of the advanced civilization as a subsidiary or stay independent and continue to struggle on their own. While Robin believes in the Gray’s mission to civilize humanity, her human partner Jake sees the Grays as colonizers. Despite their differences they must work together as lives are at stake, but there is more going on than either could imagine.
